Charming, clean, thoughtfully appointed motel, with owners who clearly take careful pride in their place and guests comfort.
Very informative especially about modern whaling (vs Moby Dick). Also nice to see a balanced view that also accounts for the work and livelihoods of the whalers. Beware bad puns.
The chef is superb giving as much attention to delicious delicately balanced vegetarian dishes as to meat and seafood. Bravo.
Choppy ride with not enough ventilation so a few people needed 🤢 bags. Don't buy the bike from them the stuff on the island seems better maintained.
Tasting tour was fun and informative and our guide (is he really called Tiger?) was delightful and charming.
The only winery on our McLeod tour that had figured out shipping to duty free Hong Kong. Good for them they got all our wine money. Goes without saying the wines are worth the buy.
Jon from McLeod Tours said this is the best meat pie in WA. Perhaps unlike him, we haven't tried them all, but this was damned fine, and very worth the visit.
Must try cured meats & dry aged beef. The beef was slightly over cooked but still delicious. The cured meats in order of favourite: 1. Duck 2. Jamon 3. Beef 4. Pate.house pickles were nice touch.
