Tom Coates: It’s often either packed or empty. If you have a slightly larger group or need a bit of privacy the upstairs area is my favorite. But don’t tell anyone.
Tom Coates: Pret is a UK staple and does good, tasty, reasonably cheap sandwiches. The toasties are nice and prepared quickly, the ham and cheese hot croissants particularly easy to consume.
Tom Coates: Went to see Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake and it was *sensational*. The venue itself is nice, clean, fairly comfortable and modern and well-connected.
Tom Coates: I mean, fundamentally it’s a John Lewis. You know what you’re going to get. But it has good parking, is pretty large and has everything you’re likely to want.
Tom Coates: The coffee is good, they do chai and matcha lattes (the latter are a bit grassy) and they have a really good selection of breakfast items from avocado toast to a full English with amazing mushrooms
Tom Coates: It’s a bit weird to celebrate a train station but Paddington is an attractive and efficient train station with a lot of history. If you’re a tourist, worth a quick wander in for a look.
Tom Coates: A genuine find in the middle of London. Food from Thailand, China, Korea, Japan and many other places. The staff are not uniformly helpful but the stock is amazing.
Tom Coates: Like all London public transit you can use Apple Pay or a touchless card to just walk through the barriers. This is particularly good for tourists who might not want to get tons of cash out.
Tom Coates: Really good bakery and patisserie in the heart of Kentish Town. If you are in need or a great cake or a decent coffee you will not go wrong here.
Tom Coates: Jarrold’s used to be a run of the mill regional department store, but it’s really raised its game with designer clothes, decent food and quite a good up market deli.
Tom Coates: If you come during December and January, there are masses of beautiful Atlantic Grey Seals on the beach. Absolutely beautiful creatures. The rest of the year perfect for dog walking.
Tom Coates: It’s not much more than a place to board a boat on the river or a stopping off point for day trippers, but it’s nice and (if you’re on a boat) gives you access to one of the broads’ nice tiny villages
Tom Coates: Really lovely country pub with surprisingly good and comparatively inexpensive food. The portions are substantial and tasty on the whole. Recommend the burger and Chicken Supreme.

Tom Coates: For a local hardware shop they have a surprisingly big selection of things and they’re nice and helpful when they’re not overwhelmed. A few more staff would be good.
