Cool and easy trail to a giant arch. Gets super crowded so go early in the morning.
Very impressive walk thru a giant canyon. Can be sunny even in the narrows. You can go halfway and turn back if you don’t feel like doing the whole hike but the view feels different on the way back.
Slow drive thru remote and stunning scenery. Well worth it if you have 4 wheel drive. Will take more time then you think.
Unsung national park that is less crowded then the other Utah parks. If you have 4 wheel drive do go up to Cathedral Valley to get a whole other POV of the park. Spend at least 2 to 3 days here.
Not much water in the late spring but worth the detour. Be mindful of lighting as you are really exposed up here.
Nice easy and wide trail - well worth going to the tanks. Great for kids to lear about history and has some shady bits on a hot day.
Neat quick stop to lean about First Peoples culture in the area. Can get crazy crowded.

Amazingly awesome restaurant- by far the best option in town. antelope and elk are fantastic and some of the pasta dishes are great. Lots of specials not on the menu. Make a reservation or go early.
Drive thru coffee hut with big espresso drinks that’s a great first stop before heading into the park.
Small visitors center, but helpful staff who can guide you on the best trails to check out given your skill level and time.
Great state park in the middle of nowhere. Can get crowded and they limit entrance so go early. Hike to goblets lair is great as is just playing among the rocks with kids.
Tasty and interesting burgers and fries. The menu is a bit misleading as even the pulled pork still has a beef patty on it. Not many options if you don’t dig cow.
Beautiful flowers at a fair price but for holidays you have to order way in advance.
Great place for a cold beer on a hot day under the misters when it’s pushing 100 degrees. They have decent local wine as well.
Good and fast food. The fried chicken sandwich and fries are great. Friendly service and great for kids.
It’s a little pricey but the ocean view rooms are worth it to watch otters and other sea life from your room. The binoculars are a nice touch.
Food is pretty decent for a big hotel, but the main reason to go here is to eat outside on the bay as the otters and kayaks swim by. Ahi and salmon are solids bets.
A slightly spread out collection of historic buildings that tells the history story of the European colonization of California.
It’s hot as hell outside but the kid has to go to the bathroom this place is a lifesaver.
Short trail - go to the left at the bridge an hour up to Valley View to avoid the stairs. Go early as it gets crowded.
Beautiful place for a morning run and to allow yourself to daydream about real estate in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
