    Best wine bar in LA. The owners are Jedi Masters of wine. Come in and learn the ways of wine knowledge. "They cannot affect your palate's past, but they can affect your palate's future."

    Castelvetrano olives are always good but for some reason they are exceptional here. They come with marcona almonds. It's a necessary order.

    Ask the bartenders. They know. Really. Give them a flavor profile — thinking it was a cocktail bar, the first time we came, the bartender asked us what we would have ordered. Spot on.

    This place is so snooty that it makes it hard to enjoy the great ambiance and tasty food. If Bar Covall got some better bar staff, it would be my favorite place to go. Not going back soon.
