Definitely worth it to see David and the sculptures. We bought our tickets from the advance reservations desk and were inside 10 minutes later. No queuing around the block!
Long line to get in, but definitely worth seeing Michelangelo's David, even if you're not big into sculptures. Definitely buy a ticket online in advance to save time (~30 min wait in tourist season)
We staied at queue near 1,5 hours, but we didn't regret. At the gallery the most important and amazing exhibit is a David by Michelangelo. You need to see this statue, it's the top of people art.
David is the undeniable star, but an impressive collection of medieval and renaissance art too. Long queues so book in advance or go an hour or so before closing time. Don't miss the first floor!
Esplendorosa.
Definitely a must! but unfortunately online tickets were sold out, and the cues were so messy. We ended up buying tickets from a tour group that charged extra but it was the fastest option
Buy tickets in advance, one of the best classic and Renaissance galleries I've visited, and not just because of The David. Get soaked in Michelangelo's work, wonderful aesthetic experience.
Everything is accessible and most items aren’t places behind plexi glass so we could view thing much better and clearer. Each room was large enough for the amount of people that were there at the time
The main attraction here is Michelangelo's David, apart of that, in sculpture, there are only loads of plaster models and some unfinished pieces. If you're into arts, the retables collection is great.
Buy the Firenze card to avoid lines. The highlight is Michelangelo's David, but you must also see the astonishing piece of gold/silver thread embroidery by Jacopo Cambi: The coronation of the Virgin.
Excellent collections of Renaissance painting and of course... sculpture. Besides David, you’ll also see a small collection of Michelangelo’s unfinished sculptures.
You seriously can't miss the visit. There is one one thing worth seeing it: DAVI by Michelangelo. Stare at the details like a crazy person because is so perfectly beautiful!
Apart from Michelangelo's David which everyone should see, you should also see ancient musical instruments museum which is on your right as you enter the gallery👍
Michelengelo, heykel, sanat şeklinde özelden genelde doğru ilerlerken, her evrede aklınıza gelebilecek eser, “Davut”u görebilmeniz için gitmeniz gereken yer Galleria del’Accademia
Here you find the original statue of David by Mihelangelo. Don't miss it - it really is impressive. It would be hard to copy even with today's texhnology. It's a masterpiece:-)
Just don't take the audioguide it's a horrendous waste if money. // Der Audioguide ist äußerst schlecht. Er ist sehr debil und liest praktisch zu ca. 85% die Hinweistafel vor - zudem selten nutzbar.
The Gallery hosts the famous David by Michelangelo, symbol of Florence and of the Renaissance and some unfinished works of Michelangelo. Follow FirenzeCard page on Foursquare for tips about Florence.
O grande destaque é o David. Realmente, é de uma beleza e detalhes no mármore que me impressionou. De certa forma até diminuiu todas as outras esculturas à disposição para visitação.
If you have the Firenze Card you can skip the lines. If not, you can reserve a spot online or just wait it out. We went in November and only waited 15 mins. Michelangelo's David is a sight to behold.
In addition to David and unfinished Michelangelos sculptures (amazing) do not miss the collection of orthodox icons: brought to Firenze by Francis Stephen, husband od Marie Theresie of Austria
The Rape of the Sabines and David were awesome to see, but other than that this museum doesn't have a whole lot. You could probably see it all in an hour. Don't expect much and buy your ticket online!
Thus year, every Tuesday and Thursday during the summer (until Sep 27th), the gallery is open untill 10 PM, so you can sit by David almost alone and avoid the three hour waiting during the day.
Is the “home” of Michelangelo’sDavid, a colossal statue symbol of Florentine freedom. The Galleria also hosts some unfinished works by Michelangelo: the 4 “Prisoners” and a statue of Saint Matthew.
The Galleria dell'Accademia di Firenze, or "Gallery of the Academy of Florence", is an art museum in Florence, Italy. It is the home of Michelangelo's sculptureDavid
