There's a scenic view from the top to Penang (actually from lots of spots up there), worth a visit. Take a long walk, check the cute love locks all over a viewpoint and pretty much that's all u can do
Brings back childhood memory. Faster train now for RM10! No more long Qs. So many things can be done at top of the hill. Don't forget to go for a buggy ride (rm30/buggy) & they'll explain everything!
Penang Hill was featured in My Penang show on AFC in October 2014. You can have English tea and scones (only 100 are made daily) with strawberry jam at this place up there.
suggestion to take a hike up, have a walk on the hill top, have a coffee and get down using tram. Get the one way down tram ticket before going up, they will ask for MYkad so that price will be cheap
Nice view! Have to be early or late evening to avoid crowd. The queue to the train can be a hassle, not much entertainment on top except for relaxing or family picnic.
You’ve never come to Penang unless you’ve visited Penang hill. Come here for the view and there’s many new attraction available like The Habitat. For cafes you can visit the David Brown restaurant.
Even though the view from Penang Hill is very nice, and it's somewhat cooler here, expect lots of people. In addition there's lots of commercial activity up here. Head to the Habitat for tranquility.
I totally recommend to come here early in the morning where the weather feels super breezy and less hot to walk around. Best view is definitely in the evening to see the sunsets. ✨
An alternate to waiting in the long line for the Penang Hill Funicular is to either pay for an express pass or head to the Penang Botanic Gardens and pay 160 MYR for a driver to take you up in a 4WD.
Overlooking Penang from the top. Can spend a breathtaking and relaxing afternoon there. Quite pack during holidays and weekends. Locals, remember to bring your identity card to get cheaper tickets!
( If you did not go to Pinang hill , you did no go to Pinang at all), simply beautiful , henna shop was amazing ,fresh air and trees every where , the view is breathtaking
If you want to tressure the penang hill by train and you're also a student you can bring your student card then you will get only rm4 for the ticket fee! 😉
Penang Hill is one of the oldest colonial hill. Beautiful Panorama, Unique Plants, Masters of Nature & Historical Heritage. The train ride a nice experience. Must visit.
We took a RM 30 buggy ride with a man called Zaini. he was such a great tour guide and a barrel of laughs. He speaks two dialects of Chinese and knows the hillintimately. Great bloke!
Getting to Penang Hill is easy (and cheap!). Just take RapidPenang bus 204 (Jetty - Bukit Bendera) and exit at the terminal station. When boarding at KOMTAR bus station the trip will cost you 2RM.
30 MYR for round trip ticket is a bit too much. You can get similar view for free from Kek Lok Si temple, not to mention you can park right in front of observation deck there.
Train ride is 5 min but queue is longer. Reached 10 am weekday- took almost 1 hr to reach hill top. R$30 (2way) 4 min-locals. Fast lane is $80 . On way down - can TOP up $20/pax (fast lane)
a great place to view the breathtaking scenary of the whole Pulau Pinang:D the service of cabbies is excellent and a highly recommended place to start your journey😊
Penang Hill is a hillresort comprising a group of peaks in Penang, Malaysia. It is located in Air Itam, which is 6 kilometres from the city centre of George Town.
Do drop by our shop and explore on the way to/from pg hill..you will love us..we will love your visit yo our shop ..2km bfr pg hill frm town..its on the same main road. thank you ; )
You need an IC to purchase the ticket at 8 bucks. Family package will be cheaper. Recommend you to find couple or family around there to buy tickets together.
Apart from the breathtaking view of Penang, there's nothing much up on Penang hill. Train ride up the steep slope was fun. Cost: RM30/pax for Normal adult queue.
Two lines - one for the tickets (30 MYR per person) and one for the train. Expect at least a 30 min waiting time and 10 mins for the ride. Scenic views on top.
I recommend fast lane if you came during peak holiday season. If you're photo junkie, this is the place where you can selfies all the way without being weird. 🙈
Lovely view of the Penang town. Only thing bad is the train up and down. Terrible mgmt, no crowd control and lots of Q cutting and pushing. Hope mgmt do something to quickly improve!
