    The original double cheese 'n fries is a very good option. The fries are delicious and if you don't want to spend much and you are with someone else buy one soft drink (you can refill it)

    Steak 'n Shake seems to be one of the better national hamburger chains and it's good that NYC finally has one. For this part of town, this is probably the best affordable fast food burger you can get.

    Very good. Paper-thin smashed patties pack a beefy punch. Get original double cheese with fresh veggies. Except pickles which would ruin everything. Fries are super thin, yum, and fried in peanut oil.

    This is an abbreviated version of the sit-down Steak n' Shake you love from the midwest but the burgers are just as good. Probably the closest you'll get to an IN-N-OUT style burger on the East Coast.

    Stopped here first night in NYC after our flight in from London. Brilliant burger, beautiful fries and Brooklyn beer on draft at very reasonable price. Highly recommend

    Delicious burgers! The buns get pretty soggy but the burgers and toppings make up for it. Definitely get one of their shakes!

    Get the steak burger! Upgrade the fries to one of the dry rub flavors and make sure to grab the Nutella milkshake. Easily a new favorite. They accept #LevelUp!

    Double cheeseburger w/Fries is Perfection. Burger is delish and fries are the best I've ever had! Chili deluxe leaves something to be desired (way too watery...no substance to the chili).

    A burger, beer, and fries for UNDER $10.....IN MIDTOWN! Read that as many times as you have to but don't take too long, there's a line forming. ;) Oh, and its delicious.

    If you're on a tight budget, ask for your burger without fries, you save 70 cents before taxes. The fries are hand-cut shoestring and are good though.

    They messed up the order, but the Manager On Duty was extremely attentive and made sure the order was corrected. Plus, great, tasty, simple burger and fries for half of the cost of Shake Shack.
