An hour wait but the huge lobster and fried clam with scallops platter will make you feel better once you get it. I suggest you get a robot to take your place in line or bring a 6-pack.
The clam/scallop combo is worth the hour drive from Boston! So much food, but definitely a summer treat! Go during the week to avoid the lines, or place a take out order (a little extra but worth it)
expect about an hour wait whenever you go. ask for the big belly oysters (they are off the menu) instead of the regular oysters. one 3 way combo is more than enough for 3 people. trust me.
While the clams are definitely the most popular menu item, fried shrimp, scallops, oysters, calamari, and haddock are available as well. The portions are huge, but be prepared for a wait. Baca selanjutnya
You're gonna wait in line but well worth the wait. Prices might seem high but portions are HUGE! Not a ton of seats inside but they generally keep things moving. Great Clams, scallops and Chowdah!
Thanks to my North of Boston SeafoodTrail app I found The Clam Box in Ipswich, a Northshore hot spot. Unfortunately there is a line out the door, but I suppose that's a good sign.
This highly regarded restaurant's exterior is fashioned to resemble a gigantic clam box. See the full review here: http://now.tufts.edu/articles/dish-clam-crawl-continued
, drove 2.5 hr's only to wait in liner for 1hr and get pretty much clam strips, and the smallest scallops I have ever gotten. and were charged an extra 4 Dollars to boot for the clams.
The Clam Box is an over priced tourist trap. Go about a mile down the road to the Clam Bake. Better food, good prices, and very nice staff! AND NO LINE!
