- The Buvette chef's take on rustic Italian small plates with rustic West Village decor. Equally tasty, great value ($90 dinner for two with wine), and the perfect date spot. Crostini are all great.
- Cole KennedySeptember 30, 2019That dinner was about as perfect as dinner in the West Village can be. Loved the artichokes, mushrooms, and literally any pasta. Put your name in around 5, come back at 8 to check your spot in line.
- Chad HornerSeptember 28, 2016love Via Carota (from the chefs at Buvette and I Sodi, both a block away); get as many of the pastas as you can, and go for the fried rabbit even if rabbit isn't normally your thing! it's delicious
- Wonderful staff and the food/drink is fresh and delicious (extra points for the unique vegetable dishes). Save room for dessert! The next best thing to flying to the Italian countryside.
- Dan MoneyJuni 20, 2019Carrots and charred leeks are both excellent in the vegetables section. And the cacio pepe is indeed superb. Get there around 6 to get your name on list and then get seated around 7:30. Great negronis
- Emily WilsonNovember 18, 2018PRO-TIP: Skirt the inevitable long waits at dinner and come for weekend lunch. Same menu, and you'll have the place to yourself if you arrive between opening (10am) and noon.
- Milo B. AdamsJuli 4, 2018the cacio e pepe is an unexpected trip to Rome. whoops!...forgot my passport! authentic and delicious. just the way the Roman's prepare it - sans-international airfare!

- Alex HunterAgustus 30, 2021There’s a reason this place always has a line! The insalata verde is a must and the grilled artichokes are insane. The cacio pepe has a nice kick to it. Not to mention the ambiance and service!
- Josephine SonNovember 21, 2014Love love love this place. Everything I had was great: octopus, cauliflower, rabbit, raspberry crostata...and the best lasagna ever! I can see many a late night here...again and again!
- Emily WilsonJanuari 21, 2016Like Buvette, it gets crowded and the tables are tight. Definitely get the stracchino crostini. Ask your waiter to help you balance out your meal, as it's easy to over-do it on rich dishes.
- Valerie SApril 28, 2021Excellent homemade and authentic Italian food with friendly service. Their outdoor seating is no great too- very comfortable and adequately spaced out. Fantastic dining experience.
- Elizabeth IrizNovember 26, 2016Rustic, delicious cuisine that will leave you feeling satisfied & definitiely have you coming back for more! Listen to the specials before you decide or you might miss the option with white truffles.

- KatDesember 18, 2020Had an amazing outdoors dinner date here during COVID. The cacio e pepe was fantastic, as was a raspberry dessert. We also had burrata, artichokes and a great grilled fish dish. Service was stellar.
- David AmbroseFebruari 9, 2020so many amazing plates and hard to pick but brussel sprouts salad, carrots and spiced yogurt as well as Tuscan beans are great ways to start the dinner!
- Alex HennesseyAgustus 23, 2015Chicken liver crostino is delicious but the simple stracchino cheese + sundried cherry tomatoes is the true winner. Fried rabbit for your entree and you've got a nice little meal for yourself.

- Rebecca MaldonadoAgustus 5, 2016Everything was delicious! You have to try their tornarelli cacio e pepe, so good!
- Johnnie SkywalkingJuni 24, 2017Lots of great veggies but mushroom is definitely the best. Smokey cheese makes mushroom as good as it could ever be. One reason to keep coming back here.

- Dustin LeeSeptember 10, 2019I still dream about the Acciughe e Burro. The cacio e pepe actually lives up to the hype, do not miss it

- D LSeptember 17, 2018Cacio pepe was extra primo good as was the pork chop special w plums... Almond torte was also great for desert. Not a fan of the rabbit - deep fried and like skimpy chicken.

- Curtis ShoungJanuari 17, 2016Two apps, two entrees, carafe of wine = $140 with tax/tip. It tastes good. Lively atmosphere, especially if you can sit at the bar. (not a 2 $ sign rating though as 4sq says)

- Wilson ZhouApril 12, 2016Named after the Tuscan thoroughfare. Basic cooking is no exception, redolent with whiffs of home kitchens and hands-on Sauté 101 classes. But the soulful Italian plates served at Via Carota. -TimeOut
