One of my favourite streets in Berlin. Brilliant example of Stalinist architecture. Stroll down to Frankfurter Tor from Strausberger Platz and don't miss the information boards scattered along the way
Exciting walk, full of surprises in socialist germany. Former avenue of the GDR, the Kino International, Café Moskau, the old Tatra Motokov advertisement are definitely worth seeing.
east berlin's former "stalin allee" is simply awesome! <3 i love to lieve there, the 1950s building in gingerbread style have big flat roofs to watch the sky in summer and at new year's eve!
Superb examples of communist architecture on this street. Cafe sybille on same street holds a permanent exhibition about the renovation of the buildings into "wedding cakepalaces". Worth the walk!
zu seinem 70. Geburtstag 1949 erhielt Josef Stalin von der noch jungen DDR ein Geschenk: Die vormalige Große Frankfurter Straße wurde in Stalinallee umbenannt.
The Karl-Marx-Allee is a monumental socialist boulevard built... by the GDR between 1952-60 in Berlin. The boulevard was named Stalinallee between 1949-61 (previously Große Frankfurter Straße), and was a flagship building project of East Germany's reconstruction programme after WW II.(Tampilkan lebih banyak)
