Clean restrooms, awesome lifeguards, and almost always great conditions for surfing. The waves and currents can be a challenge for swimmers and novice boogie-boarders so stay close to the towers.

Just south of the village so you can still walk up to the main shops in Carlsbad without being on the crowded area of the beach
