Free WiFi is fast, stable, and available everywhere within the hostel building. There are multiple networks though with different names - same password, pick the one with the strongest signal.
There's a cover charge to get into the cat room, but that does include one "standard" drink - you can upgrade your drinks. Food comes in a lunchbox that looks like a picnic, which is cute.
Dining options in the nearby Cuppage Plaza / Terrace just outside the hotel and better value for money than the hotel restaurants.
Go for any of the absinthe shots - the black variety - to ensure a) you have a very good night b) you don't remember any of it.
Popular for late-night drunken meals. That said, the tacos and burritos are indeed quite good. Staff is super friendly and enthusiastic, keep a rocking playlist going for atmosphere.
A somewhat-pretentious establishment, and wait times can be long if they're backed up. It's an interesting concept though and the cocktails are certainly worth a try.
Food is great, and excellent value for money (even though some may complain about portion size, it wasn't an issue for me). As for the beers, "Fucking Hell" is a great name but a terrible beer.
Service is excellent and the staff are friendly. Not usually a fan of tapas as it doesn't leave me sated, but the food here is delicious.
Closest way back to Waterloo Station is through the tunnel down the road from the cafe - often a lot of graffiti artists in action when passing by in the evening.
Healthy option for a quick meal at King's Cross station. Love the Chicken & Chorizo Hot Box.
Outdoor terrace area is a great place for relaxed drinks on a sunny day. Wish it had a larger / better selection of beers on tap.
I'd recommend the king prawn linguine - melt-in-your-mouth! Good in-house hotel restaurant. Wine list is quite extensive.
Not really built for a sit-down meal, it's more of a to-go food place. Take it down by the river or high street.
Quiet little English restaurant with well-thought decor. Usually appears abandoned because it's somewhat expensive for students to be regularly eating out at.
Authentic Sri Lankan place, in Jersey of all places. Don't be too scared of the food being too spicy, as the flavours for most dishes are quite mild - almost creamy. Many are cooked in coconut milk.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel over other chains in Jersey. Excellent attention to detail from friendly staff, and room design is very fresh for a property with so much heritage.
Busy for brunch especially on the weekends. Thankfully, it takes advance bookings on OpenTable even for smaller parties of 2+. Save Get the fermented cola, save space for the cookies and milk dessert!
Neat little boutique hotel right in town. The breakfast / restaurant is nice, and staff are a tight-knit and friendly group. Free WiFi has speeds worse than a Holiday Inn Express in small towns.
