    Early flight? Security can often be quite busy, and most of the line is behind the glass wall, so don't assume there's no line if you see the outside queue empty!

    The Eagle's Nest Observatory Level is amazing. Quiet, comfortable and pre-security. Sneak behind Timmy's/Starbucks and take the elevator to the third floor.

    There's a cute lounge (not just for frequent flyers), on the third floor. Elevator right between Tim Horton's & Starbucks. Get yourself a coffee & head on up. Good viewing.

    Security lines can be crazy on a Sunday, but if you're late, the people are so kind that they let you into the front of the line. This DOES NOT happen in Toronto!

    Get there early now for morning flights. The half hour before boarding time is no longer enough time. They have lots of morning flights going out.

    The flights here are good! Go here if you want to get off the island and don't want to deal with ferry traffic! Winter flights will probably always be delayed.

    Staff is brilliant. The elder lady behind the ibfo booth is so sweet and helpful, she made sure I got on the right bus to downtown.

    Wish I'd had the 'chill' security...Apparently the tiny airport has to pick through everything that a daily traveler in major international airports never has an issue with. Vino is good.

    Cloud 10 shuttle and tours is a great alternative to taxi. Dimitri picked us up at home in Langford at 0330. Very pleasant ride to the airport

    Head to the Roost on your way to/from the airport (at the lights at the corner of McTavish & East Saanich Rd. Try the meatloaf sandwich - you can't go wrong

    There is spotty bus service from the airport to downtown. Best to take the Akal airport transporter ($19) or the taxi ($55-$65). The taxi drivers are very informative, maybe with the fare.

    Free wifi. All the staff (including security) are really nice. Currently the airport is under construction.

    The breakfast wrap from Spinnakers (inside security) is amazing and takes only 5 or 6 minutes to prepare. Don't bother with Tim Horton's, get some real food!

    For parents/caretakers of little kids: on the second floor beside gates 1 & 2 are a small play area and a TV set to Treehouse.
