- MarcNovember 25, 2019WashPo #8 Best DC BBQ '19: Sauced brisket is smokier, and more succulent, than the stuff found at much larger joints. His ropy strands of pulled pork, at once sweet and tangy, are just as good.
- Serious EatsAgustus 9, 2013Perpetually packed in the evenings, but come during the afternoon to be able to grab a table easily and relax with beer and barbecue. Call ahead for the whole smoked pig head if that's your thing
- Katarina KatsmaJuli 8, 2015You can never go wrong with Brat and Beer. And the outdoor atmosphere is super chill. The umbrellas are huge, so even if it's raining, chances are you'll still be able to sit outside.
- Excellent pulled pork, good sides, nice rotating beer selection with acceptable prices for the neighborhood...but many, many times it is impossible to find a seat here. I recommend sunday boozing.
- Diana BrodyJuni 21, 2017A pretty, but chill biergarten with a cozy, backyard kind of feel to it. Fabulous for Summer lounging with a solid selection of beer, as well as cider.
- Jason CAgustus 10, 2017Casual beer garden with solid barbeque. Might very well be the greatest grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had.
- DCistJanuari 3, 2017No paradox of choice at Garden District, where American and German beers are high-end but not overwhelming. The Southern-style food here hits the spot regardless of how many beers you've chugged. Baca selanjutnya
- ThrillistJuni 12, 2013This pork 'n beer stop's fronted by a picnic table-laden mini beer garden, and anchored by a small indoor bar pouring Bavarian liters. Baca selanjutnya
- Colette MerrillMei 23, 2020Got the Mac and cheese, fried pickles, spicy sauerkraut, and pulled pork sandwiches. Everything was good but the sauerkraut was especially amazing.
- Jake SmithAgustus 9, 2014While the atmosphere and beer selection is refreshing, the pork sandwich lacks a smoke flavor, even with the slaw topping. The brisket is the better sandwich, give that a try.
- Washington PostOktober 16, 2013Every day feels like Oktoberfest at everyone's favorite beer garden. The fence-enclosed picnic tables on 14th Street NW are some of the most prized seats in the city.
- Bitches Who BrunchMaret 4, 2016We prefer our doughnuts washed down with a cold brew. Soak up the sun, suds, and fresh from-the-oven doughnut holes made daily.
- Denis FigueroaJuli 3, 2017Just like in Germany! Great for friends! Ask for the pulled pork sandwich! And off course a big beer
- carla elaineJuli 8, 2013Great beer garden. Sit down have a few ...& if you're feeling adventurous get the whole BBQ pig head. Great location for bar hopping afterwards
- JESS3Desember 12, 2011Whenever I'm in the mood to pretend I'm back in Germany, I head here for an authentic German beer (in a stein of course!). Closest thing in DC to a European beer garden.
- Sandra RubinchikOktober 24, 2015Little garden, big eats! (Also, all the prices are wonky numbers so they can be made whole with tax, and I'm all about that.)
- JayJuni 15, 2013Awesome place to hang, the staff is great and the beer is just the same, oh yah and the food rock too.
- Amy CummingsSeptember 3, 2017Grab a beer, post up near the sidewalk, and get some great people-watching views.
- This place fills up quickly, but it's really cute and their beer and food are both really good.
- Anna EbbesenFebruari 10, 2013If the sun is out, head for Standard. Best pulled pork in town. Don’t miss the Mexican corn on the cob as a side dish.
- Tom MaxwellOktober 16, 2016If you're hardcore call in and order a pig's head ($30). 1-2 weeks advanced notice required!
- .oo.Mei 17, 2013Skip the frickles but the brisket sammich is great. Oh, and they have Weihenstephan. Have one. Or three. Thank me later.
- The curry wurst is amazing... and even better when paired with traditional German beers!
- Order the fried donuts. Steve (aka Doji) is the best. He only works Thursday -Sunday.
- This is my favorite place in DC. If you see Tad give him a high five from me and ask him for bacon.
- Matt RobinsonJuli 31, 2011This southern boy says get the spot-on hush puppies. (Also, the sammies are good, but marvel at how great those sesame seed buns are!)
- Washington PostOktober 12, 2011** stars in Tom Sietsema's Fall Dining Guide 2011. (Tom recommends the bratwurst "cradled with winy sauerkraut." http://wapo.st/ncIlpL
- B HuttonNovember 17, 2013Best pulled pork sandwhich in the District and in the U.S. for that matter. End of conversation.
- High top table is the best. No wind, in the sun...liters of Hofbrau all around!
- Clay VickersDesember 2, 2016Friendly servers. Currently decorated for Christmas - the Miracle on 14th Street!
- M Squared Real EstateAgustus 14, 2011The burger here is the sleeper folks. Hands down one of the best burgers in the city and at a great price.
- I'm usually here on most days. Come say hi. Beer gardens are about sharing and making friends.
- Happy hour M-F 5-6: $5 Hofbräu lager, $5 brats. 👌🏼
- I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The secret sauce for the fried pickles is so very delicious.
- Peter McGrathMei 3, 2012The barbecue is very good but don't overlook the sides -- especially the hush puppies.
- "This place was better as a plant shop. Fewer douchebags."
- Angela AlarconMei 1, 2012Last Sunday they had donuts for $1. Not sure if that's a regular staple, but it was damn good.
