The busiest airport in the world, and so far, only 4sq venue to surpass the 1M mark. Delta's precence cannot go by unnoticed. Also, only airport in the US to have a runway over an Interstate (10/28)
Extremely crowded, and fast-paced, so make sure you know where you're going or you just might get run over (by the people-movers, if not the people themselves)
As of May 2013, the back entrance for the airport's park and ride (from Riverdale Road) is closed. Signs suggest the construction is ongoing until 2014.. Yay!
There are charging posts with regular power plug sockets and usb ports to charge your electronics at your seat at your gate, and there are convenient stations to reprint your boarding pass.
Find yourself getting lost in concourse "E"? Don't worry, you're not alone! "E" is the largest international concourse in the US, with a capacity to handle up to 8,000 arriving passengers per hour.
This used to be a smoke free airport. Philip Morris lobbied to have the smoking rooms installed in lead up to the Atlanta Olympic Games. The rooms don't address the health hazards of secondhand smoke.
If you are flying Delta domestic, you could avoid some lines and check in at the international terminal. TSA lines are usually lighter there than the domestic checkin.
When going to baggage claim board the first compartment in the train.. U can get down and be the first one on the escalator so u can climb the stairs. This saves u 5 mins. A lot if u r frequent
Be prepared to walk! And walk.. Plan to have an extra time for the long walk and transportation between terminals and gates. 1h is not enough for international flights. Run!!!
Remember 1-877eziTAXI , welcome to ATL, we're the good guys. Be careful out there............the only thing worse than being stranded at the airport is being stranded in someone's backseat and paying.
I may be biased but ATL is one of the most efficient, organizedairports. Some employees could use a little extra training - but airport itself is great. Glad I don't have to connect there though
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport proudly bears the distinction of being the world’s busiest and most efficient airport and has served as a valuable hub connecting various cities and countries around the globe.
