Pro tip: on the weekend, ask for the potato salad on the grill. They're hash browns, Benny-style. Also, if it's available, order whatever is "From the Lab."
Saturday early afternoon is a great time to enjoy a beer and introduce the little ones to fine sausages without bothering anyone. My kid said the brisket sausage was the best meat he ever had.
Pete Wells, NYT, 9/9/15: "Tokyo chicken sausage (juicy, salty and spicy from shishito peppers…) The one made from brisket with burned ends is a phenomenal piece of barbecue"
Quality food, traditional Schnapps. Owners have been neighborhood fixtures for years. Sausages, tasty pickles, sides and mustards served all night. Pro tip: Get the sausage and a pint lunch special.
A sausage stand featuring a walk-up window, communal table & a bar + tv combo - all with ready access to frankfurters, bratwurst, weisswurst, käsekraner, landjäger, & cocktail wieners.
Stumbled in to this place after spending an evening at Commonwealth up the street and it was exactly what I was looking for. Can't wait to come back again.
Fantastic beer selections, brats and sausages smoked out back that will twist your taste buds sideways and back with great bartenders. Oh yeah it's a must go to spot.
Two things an Austrian will notice immediately: the Käsekrainer (sausage with cheese) and the Reisetbauer Schapps gallery top shelf. Do yourself a favor and have a bit of both!
Get a Käsekrainer, which is a cheese-filled sausage. Be careful, the cheese you're about to enjoy is extremely hot and might squirt on you or others as you bite in!
