Richmond Park is the largest royal park in London, with free-roaming deer wandering its varied landscape. From the King Henry’s Mount there is a stunning view of St Paul’s Cathedral 10 miles away.
Check out the Kensington Gardens to see the statue of Queen Victoria, the only other British Monarch aside from Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate a Diamon Jubilee with a 63 year rein.
In the 18th century the park was notorious for highwaymen and Horace Walpole was one of many robbed here. Handel’s ‘Music for the Royal Fireworks’ was composed for an event here in 1749.
