Dëva HolikOktober 27, 2014Parking can be a pain. Valet is off site. Most terminals need updating. International terminal is almost complete and delta has had a make over. American is working on theirs.

Stephanie NordstromSeptember 30, 2011Don't arrive at the airport too early. It doesn't open till 4am and if you are cutting it close on time, most airlines will help you get through security so you don't miss your flight.
Don't hold up the security line - if you're wearing complicated shoes, there are tons of benches right after security where you can do them up
Parking in Economy Lot C? Give yourself some extra time and prepare for a jam packed ride on the shuttle bus. Central terminal parking is expensive ($30/day), but oh so convenient.

For tourists staying in Santa Monica, save some cash and take the lot C LAX bus to connect to the $1 Big Blue Bus
If flying Virgin America, pop for the Loft. Heaven can be found in an airport.- If you are flying United, you should join TSA's pre-check program first. It allows you to go through security without removing shoes, laptop or liquids. Was a breeze!
K HAgustus 8, 2012Haven't been here for past few yrs and security have changed a lot but it is not as bad as everyone makes it to be; maybe bc domestic flight? Went thru security at 11am and got thru around 11:15ish.

Jessica YanowAgustus 13, 2011If you are on an American airlines express shuttle, you have to take a bus to a separate area with no coffee and only cpk. Get your coffee and snacks before boarding shuttle!
Most affordable Beer/Shot combo I have found in an airport. $13.
If you're coming in from an international flight in terminal 2, there's a starbucks and a currency exchange booth right next to each other!
If using an Uber, Use the Premium service so you don’t have to trek to the LAX-it station. 🙄- K ZiggyJanuari 12, 2012The best taxi service is laxtransport.com to get to the airport. They are on time and their website reservation super helpful.
If you have to take a cab anywhere within a 10 minute drive or less of LAX, you can fully expect your cab driver to be very unpleasant to you.

Do not get sidelined by the timeshare people trying to “help” you. Head all the way outside for shuttles and taxis.
If you're departing during the busy holiday season, drop off at Arrivals and take the escalator up.
If you're going to fly with your child, make sure you teach them to be quiet first. Some of us would like to blog and do work in silence.

Pick up people on july 4th. The cops are all, finally, somewhere else, doing useful police work. I have been parked for ten minutes in front of gates!
Be sure to run for the security que because it may already be long enough to miss your flight.

Thursday night flight on Virgin Atlantic is the way to go for Heathrow - almost never fully booked

Mark HuangAgustus 1, 2018The food options are really limited in the mornings. Plus the lines are super long. I would suggest to have breakfast somewhere else and not at the airport.
This airport continues to exist despite its unsightly appearance and it's overall obsolescence. Customer Service, technology and restroom facilities...they are simply inadequate! Fly Burbank!
The only thing "good" about LAX is the location, but the traffic is horrible, the wait times on or off the plane are much longer than other airports. Light rail and expansion are decades overdue.
