Hometown classic. Get the cavatelli with vodka sauce, the chicken parm, maybe some calamari.
I love Poor Phil's. The wait staff are mediocre as is the food. But they have the best beer list outside of Chicago. Hands down best place for a casual beer in Oak Park.
This is the best sit down Mexican restaurant on the planet. But I'm biased because I grew up on it: the chips and salsa are good and I especially like their enchiladas suizas.
The pulled pork sandwich is amazing and a lot of food. Carolina style sauce. Ribs are fall-off-the-bone. Mac & Cheese was delicious, had some pepper in it. The Brunswick stew wasn't all that great.
Great place to drink after some rec sports at North Ave Beach. It also gets pretty crowded at night and is filled with mid to late 20 year olds.

Joe's is great. It's friendly, inexpensive, and has a warm atmosphere. Joe himself is funny and I immediately loved this place.
They have every type of liquor or beer under the sun. Best place I've seen in Atlanta so far.
Their burgers taste just like Five Guys but are really inexpensive. I can't recommend this fast food joint enough!
The beer is reasonably priced. Make sure to try their wings - they have the best sauce on the planet. I'm also a big fan of the chopped brisket and ribs. The pulled pork is good but doesn't outshine.
The jerk chicken, beans and rice, and fried plantains were without a doubt the best Jamaican food I've ever had.
The brisket here is amazing. It falls apart as if it was braised in an oven but has a nice smoke ring. The mac n cheese and slaw were also spectacular. Try some of the pepper vinegar on the cornbread!
Hot dogs with mustard, onions, relish, and sport peppers. And tamales! Don't ask for ketchup, even for your fries, because they don't have any. This place is a timeless establishment for Chicago.
