𝙈𝙖.Oktober 11, 2014Private limousine, car service, and taxis also provide service to/from the airport. Taxis serving the airport charge a flat rate based on destination.
The best thing about being here is that it means you are leaving here. Unless you just got here. In which place, you're hosed.
The most helpful ppl at the airport are the employees working in the Air Train waiting areas. Not only are they there to help passengers, they actually ask if anyone needs help. Very odd at EWR.
Taxi line makes you prepay if you want to use credit card, and adds a $5.50 fee. That is some bullshit... and seems illegal?
Vrti EliasDesember 30, 2015Not that hard to get there from Port Authority, bus is nice and cozy, better to leave a 1hr reserve in case of a traffic jam in the tunnel
Give yourself a little extra time to get through security.- C1 elite line is usually shorter than the C3 elite line during busy times. You can get to all C gates from any security checkpoint.
The $16 Newark Express a wonderful, comfy coach bus but it does NOT come every 15 minutes. Bundle up.
If u don't want to miss your flight get here 2 hours before for domestic flights and 4 for international.. Security lines are ridiculous busy anytime of the day:/
Don't take the first security line in term a. Keep walking past it after you've passed the initial checkpoint. Much shorter lines there.
Edyna TMaret 14, 2012Ride the AirTrain between terminals. You get a great view of the planes, Port Newark, and NYC.
Use automatic tickets machines whenever possible bc check-in lines here get LOONNNGGG. Also, the SAS Biz Class lounge looks like an IKEA cafeteria and opens at 4pm daily.
Do yourself and your travel companion a favor and take a car service. You deserve it and its worth the extra cash.
Don't let the Terminal A security checkpoint fool you, stay for the first x-ray machine!

Haruka TenouSeptember 2, 2013The charging stations in terminal b do not work. Annoying. Otherwise no complaints. Very easy to get here from nj transit. Cheaper flights than in JFK or la guardia.

Global Entry office a little difficult to find and signage is not that great...better to ask one of the officers standing around.

Grand Central Oyster Bar is worth a stop. Better than most airport eats.
For all the complaints I might have about TSA, EWR is usually one of the quicker, more professional airport experiences.
Jane CampbellNovember 1, 2015Don't be fooled by the fact your gate is already printed on your boarding card- really don't bother going to your gate early- there is literally NOTHING here. This is the worst.
Gate checked bags get picked up at the gate. But they get to the carousel pretty quickly too.
Bus to Grand Central on $15 each way. Comes every 15 min. Takes 40 mins. Go dwnstrs to stop #2. Taxi will cost you approx $70 w tip and tolls.
Try to avoid the PDA couple when taking the weirdly divided AirTrain cars that fit, well you and that couple

Terminal A does have a United Club and it has far fewer passengers than Terminal C. The bartender is apparently bored because not enough people are asking for alcohol.

KaleemApril 17, 2011Shuttle bus to the modern Terminal C runs every 5 minutes & keeps you in the secure area. There are stairs & an elevator that take you down to the bus.

For no-frills fun (no food, no space for carry-ons too), pick American Air!
There is a shuttle, which no one knows about, between terminals. Do ask about it.
Chelsea DollJuni 1, 2022Just don’t fly in or outta here. They misplaced 3 flights luggage on 6/1/22 and half of it showed up wet and it wasn’t raining. We got stuck on the runway close to two hours bc of crew shortages.
