The Marine Corps Marathon starts on Rt. 110 right outside of Arlington National Cemetery.
Runners then head west onto Wilson Boulevard, right through Rosslyn and then onto the George Washington Parkway.

This Memorial is in the Sculpture Garden, which is a fun place to wait for your runner.
This park is close to a few monuments, but facilities are better in East Potomac Park, which is next on the runners' itinerary.
Beautiful place to see Arlington and SW D.C. There are also public restrooms throughout.
Want to take a break and go golfing or play putt putt? This is your place.
The Jefferson Memorial is right on the Tidal Basin and so are the paddle boats for exploring.
The runners aren't going right by here, but it's definitely worth seeing if you're in the area.
This memorial is one of the more recent ones, if you haven't visited the area in the past 10 years or so.
Marathoners run past here during the last stretch in D.C. After they're here, it's time to head back into Arlington.
Otherwise known as the 14th Street Bridge, runners cross this bridge and head back into Arlington.
By this point, you're probably as exhausted as the runners! Take a break at the mall to grab some food or get some souvenirs.
If you're not in the mood to shop at the mall, head to Crystal City where there is tons to do and eat.

Want to escape inside to walk around? The Crystal City Shops have restaurants and shopping underground.
One of the newest parks in Arlington, this is another fantastic place to view the rest of Arlington, including the Ronald Reagan National Airport.
Not a place you can visit while in town but the Pentagon is one of the most notable places in Arlington!
This is the only place you can visit at the Pentagon without special permission, but it's worth the trip.

The runners are going under the shadow of this memorial, so it's a fantastic place to view the course and D.C.
To grab some food or drinks outside of the Finish Festival, walk up the hill to Clarendon where there are plenty of restaurants and shopping!
