LA-ers are spoiled. Outdoor space in a bar is something NY-ers absolutely cherish. Wokcano has 'em all beat (at least in Santa Monica). Head all the way upstairs for the best outdoor dance floor.
Late night happy hours don't even make sense to Manhattanites. "But how do they make any money??" After 9:30 pm, they've got an insane happy hour for food & drinks. HUGE Sapporos for $4. Really.
The closest to a East Village dive bar I've found in Santa Monica. You feel like you're in a cool courtyard/alleyway when you chill in this low key spot. Also, there's an insane late night happy hour.
Get the bread pudding no matter what you do. I have brought this on flights before for gifting purposes. It's worth it.
