Good tourist info location with lots of brochures and a few rooms detailing the history of the town.
As of August 2019 there is lots of small glass on the beach. Not sure what it was like in the past but though it was pretty cool for kids to dig thru.
Incredible fish and chips! And the best beer list we found on the coast. Awesome to sit outside on the river and watch the seals.
Stunning headlands with incredible rock formations and crashing waves. Walk the whole path at different hours of the day as the views keep magically changing.
Best coffee in town. Great scones and muffins and they make sandwiches in the morning for you to take on your hike.
Best restaurant in the valley. Idyllic setting in the garden with food to match. Rillets, pork belly and filet are can’t miss.
Beautiful patio views down the valley and good wines as well. The rose, gewurztaminer, and 2015 Pinot Noir are all standouts.
Good small producer with some pretty stellar Pinot. The Valenti is killer.
Good place for lunch for hearty grub between wineries. Nice patio outback and the Kentucky tacos are pretty good.
Unique and eclectic museum with lots of fun things to explore especially with kids - so much to touch and do. Coal mine is hoaky but fun for little ones.
Gigantic museum of natural history and anthropology. Could and should easily spend a full day. Annoying that they make you pay extra for some exhibits, but well worth it.
An institution with a menu as long as a novel. The saganaki is a must no matter what you order.
Fun place with good if to sweet drinks. Best to stick with a run old fashioned which they make exceedingly well.
Incredible encyclopedic museum. Allow more time than you think you will need. And of course make sure to check out George and Dot.
Touristy as hell, but you can’t beat the views on the water. You can skip the mediocre restaurants and grab a drink from the outside bars and stroll up and down the lake.
Can’t comment on the food but the view from the bar is quite nice. Decent cocktails as well.
Better than expected hotel bar with a good local beer list and nice atmosphere. Only downside is they close early so go over to Fatpour after service ends.
Great beer list. Food is hit or miss: pizza is bizarre but burgers are ok. It’s a great alternative to the bland conference food you’ll be having across the street.
Good aquarium if a little small for LA. Arrive early as it’s always crazy and crawling with kids. But tixs online in advance to save a few $.
Good non-chain option in the area. Decent fish and chips, huge portions and surprisingly decent beer list. Friendly staff.
Very easy hike that yields great views- same views as the road but still fun, especially with kids. Back by the Scout camp and head up.
One of the better options in town. Amazing views, decent salads and sandwiches, beer list is vast but a little unimaginative. Unusually a wait but they’ll text you so you can walk around.
Great place for kids and the membership gets you early admission in the morning, before things got batshit crazy like they do at children’s museums.
